Morales, City Manager DATE: August 26, 2013 SUBJECT: CityVision September / October 2013 ( 2) Now Airing on MBTV - As part of Miami Beach's ongoing efforts to provide enhanced information to the community, we are now airing the latest edition of "CityVision" on MBTV, our government access cable TV station. The 30- minute news magazine program, produced by the Office of Communications, illustrates current events, programs, initiatives and services that show progress in meeting our strategic plan's goals. This new edition of "CityVision" features the following stories: • City Focus: New parking initiatives include a smartphone app, which will make finding a parking spot in our garages easier, and a new payment options such as pay by plate and pay by cellphone (coming soon). • Next Generation: Free youth programs such as the Parent/Child Home Program, Success University and Morning All -Stars are enhancing the lives of our youth and their families. The annual Family Service Day is also promoted. • Planned Progress: We report on the progress of the FDOT construction projects on Collins Avenue and Alton Road. • City Scene: Highlights our annual free Fourth of July concert celebration. • Safety First: We provide the dos and don'ts for both pedestrians and drivers to improve the pedestrian safety. • Our Environment: The Atlantic Greenway Network is expanding throughout our city. We show how it is an environmentally friendly way of getting around town. • Rec Review: Get a behind - the - scenes view of the 70 annual Playground Review, while getting a retrospective look at its history. Other highlights include a look inside our emergency operation center with the new emergency management coordinator, a preview of the Neighborhood Leadership Academy, and a recap on the convention center project.
