LTC # 3,Z (� - U 2013 SEP -9 pH 4° 44 LETTER TO COMMISSION OFF ICE C; � Y C L L F`% a TO: Mayor Matti Bower and Members the City Co mission FROM: Jimmy Morales, City Manager DATE: September 9, 2013 SUBJECT: International Coastal Cleanup Da /Miami -Dade Coastal Cleanup 2013 The purpose of this LTC is to announce that the City of Miami Beach Community Outreach Team is coordinating the City's participation in the Annual International Coastal Cleanup Day /Miami -Dade Coastal Cleanup to be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013. During this event, thousands of volunteers will spend their morning collecting millions of pounds of litter and debris on inland roadsides, along coastal areas, inland lakes and rivers worldwide. Fourteen volunteer projects will be held in Miami Beach on September 21, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The full length of beach along Miami Beach will be included in the event as well as parks and waterways. The projects will be coordinated with the cooperation of several partner organizations. The project sites and Site Coordinators are as follows: South Pointe Jetty to 6 th Michael Cortese U. S. Coast. Following the Cleanup volunteers are invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Party to be held at the Miami Seaquarium.
