SUBJECT: Correspondence from the C mittee on the Homeless
The purpose of this Letter To Commission is to forward the attached correspondence
from the Committee on the Homeless. The Committee seeks to amend Ordinance No.
97 -3086 to allow the composition of the Committee to be amended to include ex officio
representation by the Police and Fire Departments.

COMMITTEE ON THE HOMELESS

To: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission
Jimmy L. Morales, City Manager
Subject: Motion to Amend the Composition of the Committee
At today's meeting, we discussed the merits of Fire and Police Department representation on our
Committee based on the departments' respective involvement with the homeless in our City. The
Members unanimously agree that representation by the City's Police and Fire Departments would offer
useful insight that impact recommendations offered by the Committee. Therefore, the Committee
unanimously recommends that Ordinance No. 97 -3086 be amended to allow for ex officio Police and Fire
Department representation on the Committee on the Homeless.
