A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPOINTING RAUL AGUILA TO THE
POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY, EFFECTIVE MAY 169
2014 AT 5:00 PM.
WHEREAS, City Attorney Jose Smith has resigned from his employment, effective May
16 2014 at 5:00 .m. after ears of faithful diligent, and honorable service to the Mayor

and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, Chief Deputy City Attorney Raul Aguila has served the City with distinction
and integrity since 1993 in the position of Assistant City Attorney, Deputy City Attorney, and
Chief Deputy City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, on April 9, 2014, the City Commission voted unanimously at a duly noticed
meeting, upon the motion of Commissioner Jonah Wolfson, and seconded by Commissioner
Deede Weithorn, to appoint Raul Aguila to the position of City Attorney, effective on May 16,
2014 at 5:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby appoint Raul Aguila to the position of City Attorney of the City of Miami
Beach, effective May 16, 2014 at 5:00 PM.
