SUBJECT: PARKING DEPARTMENT OPERA IONS -TEMPORARY RELOCATION
As you may recall, the Property Management Division will be relocating to its new facility
at 1837 Bay Road. Demolition of the 1837 Bay Road site and construction of this new
facility will commence immediately upon the relocation of the Parking Department's
Meter Maintenance and Sign/Maintenance units. The new Property Management facility
is expected to be completed in the summer of 2015.
As a result, the Parking Department's Meter Maintenance and Sign/Maintenance units
will be temporarily relocated to Municipal Parking Lot No. P109, located on 83rd Street
and Collins Avenue and Log Cabin site, located on 79th Street and Collins Avenue,
respectively. The relocation of both operational units is temporary in nature and is
estimated to be two (2) years, as we are looking to accommodate this function once the
Property Management facility is completed. Both properties are zoned GU (Government
Use) and the activities of both operations are consistent with this zoning designation.
The Meter Maintenance unit will be temporarily housed in trailers in the southern half of
Municipal Parking Lot P109. The other half of the parking lot will remain available for
employee and public parking. The Sign/Maintenance unit will be temporarily housed at
the Log Cabin site and employee parking will be available at the adjacent metered
parking lot.
