LTC# 143-2015 LETTER TO 'CCM,MISS1ONL TO: Mayor Philip Levine and Members f the City C mission FROM: Jimmy L. Morales, City Manager DATE: April 8, 2015 SUBJECT: "Que Pasa Miami Beach?" Thea r Performance at Nautilus Middle School The Miami Beach Teen Club will perform its newest theatrical production "Que Pasa Miami Beach?"at Nautilus Middle School(4301 N Michigan Ave). The production will be shown on two different nights: May 1st at 6:00pm and May 2nd at 7:30pm. The performance on May 1st will be dedicated to our Miami Beach Seniors. Transportation will be provided to the seniors from designated pickup areas. This comedy is derived from the late 1970's hit show"Que Pasa USA?"The series focused on one family's struggle to maintain their Hispanic heritage while living in a predominately Anglo- American society. In this comedic rendition, teen actors throughout the play will be speaking a combination of Spanish with English which is better known in Cuban—American neighborhoods as Spanglish. The cast in the play is as diverse as the City itself, representative of the melting pot which is Miami Beach. The production strives to teach our youth about their ancestries while bringing back fond memories in the minds of the adults in attendance. Tickets for the show may be pre-purchased at the Miami Beach Teen Center, located at 2100 Washington Ave or at the door for$5.00. All proceeds from the show will go toward the Miami Beach Teen Club's hip hop dance team the "Unique Starz" as they fundraise to go compete in New York. Please join the CMB Players as they journey back in time when wearing bell bottoms was still cool! Should you have additional questions, please contact John Rebar at(305)673-7730.
