Subiect: 17TH STREET SITE - MASTER PLAN WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
On October 18, 2001, the Mayor and City Commission adopted a Resolution accepting,
in concept, the preliminary proposed Master Plan for the 17th Street Site; directing the
Administration to refine and finalize the proposed Master Plan as Phase II of the Study, for
presentation to the Planning Board for subsequent final adoption by the Mayor and City
Commission; directing the Administration to negotiate with the New World Symphony to
proceed with its planned expansion project; and, further authorizing the Administration to
formally request Miami-Dade Transit Authority bus route changes, consistent with the
preliminary proposed Master Plan.
In order to refine the proposed Master Plan, the Administration has planned a series of
public meetings in order to provide additional opportunity for input by area residents,
businesses, cultural groups and other stakeholders which may be impacted by the Plan.
A schedule of these meetings is included with this memorandum.
In order to ensure maximum participation at these meetings, extensive noticing is
underway, via e-mail and fax, targeting business, civic and cultural/arts group mailing lists.
Additionally, the Public Meeting scheduled for November 19, 2001, will be advertised in the
next three issues of the Neighbor's section of the Miami Herald.
