ENFORCEMENT".

This Letter to the Commission is to advise that Detective Luis King of our Police
Department has been selected to receive the Executive Office for the United States
Attorneys Director's Award for "Outstanding Contributions in Law Enforcement".
Detective King is being recognized for his work in Operation "Ramp Rats". Operation
"Ramp Rats" was a major undercover narcotics investigation at Miami International Airport
that was concluded earlier this year.
Because of his work in "Operation Ramp Rats", in June 2001, Detective King received the
"Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award from the United States Attorneys
Office for the Southern District of Florida.
This award is yet further recognition of Detective King's outstanding performance in this
important investigation. The Award will be presented on Thursday, November 1,2001, at
2:00 p.m., in the International Trade Center Amphitheatre, Ronald Reagan Building, 1300
Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
Please join me in congratulating Detective King for his dedication and this outstanding
achievement, which has brought credit to himself and to the citizens that he serves.
