Morales, City Manager DATE: June 17, 2015 SUBJECT: City of Miami Beach Recognized as a 2015 Playful City USA Community The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce that KaBOOM! is honoring Miami Beach as a 2015 Playful City USA Community. The national recognition program honors cities and towns across the country for making their cities more playable. KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to saving play, recognized 241 communities across the country as Playful City USA communities. The City of Miami Beach is honored to be part of their Playful City USA program. Playful City USA is a national recognition honoring cities and towns determined to prioritize play and ensure children are healthy by providing the time and space for play. KaBOOM! helps local governments address the play deficit through mayors, commissioners, parks and recreation departments, school districts and community leaders. The City of Miami Beach is committed to providing quality recreational programs and facilities for people of all ages and abilities. The City's goal is to ensure that all residents, from the youngest to the oldest, are exposed to a wide range of programs and facilities which cater to each group's specific needs.
