SUBJECT: French AmeriCan Climate TalkS M I;mi (FACTS): Eyes on the Rise
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide information on the upcoming FACTS
Miami: Eyes on the Rise conference that will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on
September 28, 2015. The City of Miami Beach is excited to be one of the 12 cities to co-host
this innovative, international event.
The conference is a collaborative effort between the French Consulate of Miami, the City of
Miami Beach, Florida International University, University of Miami and many other
organizations. FACTS aims to mobilize the public opinion on climate change issues and
reinforce the dialogue between experts from these countries.
Additionally, this event focuses on initiating a local discussion leading up to the 2015 Paris
Climate Conference (COP21-Paris) which will take place on December 2015. COP21 is a
global forum that promotes sustainable innovation amongst businesses, governments, the
United Nations, and other public organizations. It also encourages debate and enables the
opportunity to exchange ideas, technology and solutions that can assist in combating issues.
The event is free to attend by RSVP and will be a great opportunity to support ongoing
