The 2015-G3 report was due on October 30, 2015 (21 days late), the 2015-R1 report was due on November 6, 2015 (14 days late), and the 2015-R2 report was due on November 13, 2015 (7 days late). Pursuant to Florida Statutes §106.07(8)(b), upon determining that a report is late, the filing officer shall immediately notify the candidate or chair of the political committee as to the failure to file a report by the designated due date and that a fine is being assessed for each late day. The fine shall be $50 per day for the first 3 days late and, thereafter, $500 per day for each late day, not to exceed 25 percent of the total receipts or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the late report. However, for the reports immediately preceding each special primary election, special election, primary election, and general election, the fine is $500 per day for each late day, not to exceed 25 percent of the total receipts or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the late report. The fine, according to this calculation, is $1,637.50 for the 2015-G3 report; $0.00 for the 2015-R1 report; and $341.11 for the 2015-R2 report. The total fine is $1,978.61. This fine is payable to the City of Miami Beach, do Office of the City Clerk, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, and made payable to the City of Miami Beach within 20 days after receipt of the notice of payment due, unless appeal is made to the Florida Elections Commission pursuant to §106.07(8)(c).
