Morales, City Manager 1 DATE: November 30, 2015 i l SUBJECT: Upcoming Parks and Recreation vents— December 2015 You are cordially invited to our Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department's upcoming events: Art in the Parks The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate Art Basel during the month of December with our Art in the Parks events. The Parks and Recreation Department's emerging artists are excited to share their work surrounding the year's most exciting art exhibition. Scott Rakow Youth Center Art Show December 3, 2015 6:00 p.m. —8:00 p.m. Scott Rakow Youth Center(2700 Sheridan Avenue) Artwork by the After-School program participants will be on display. Baby Basel December 5, 2015 1:00 p.m. —4:00 p.m. Muss Park (4400 Chase Avenue) Artwork by the Play Time program participants will be on display as well as games, face painting and refreshments for the entire family. Flamingo Park Art Show December 9, 2015 6:30 p.m. —8:30 p.m. Flamingo Park (1200 Meridian Avenue) Artwork by the After-School program participants will be on display. North Shore Park Art Show December 11, 2015 6:00 p.m. —9:00 p.m. North Shore Park (501 72nd Street) Artwork by the After-School program participants will be on display during Winter Wonderland. Winter Wonderland Friday, December 11, 2015 6:00 p.m. —9:00 p.m. North Shore Park (501 72nd Street) Event-goers will experience the largest snow village in Miami Beach filled with 50 tons of snow, carnival rides, games, an appearance by the Coca-Cola polar bear and special holiday performances. The festivities will also include the City's Tree Lighting Ceremony and a visit by Santa Claus. Wristbands for carnival rides, games and refreshments will be for sale. ---- Last Curtain Call at 21st Street Thursday, December 17, 2015 6:00 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. 21st Street Recreation Center(2100 Washington Avenue) This event will serve as a farewell dinner party in remembrance of all the great memories the Teen Club members have shared in this location throughout the years. The night will be filled • with theater, live music and dance performances from current Teen Club members and Alumni. Attendees will also take a trip down memory lane with a flashback slideshow.
