SUBJECT: Community Meeting to Discuss Par'view Island Park Future Playground
& Fitness Circuit Design Updates
On Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., at North Shore Park Youth Center, the Parks
and Recreation Department will be hosting a second community meeting to present the
updated plans for the future playground and fitness circuit at Parkview Island Park.
In 2013, Parkview Island community leaders met with City representatives on several
occasions on ideas to improve the Parkview Island area. Among these improvements, a
children's playground and other furnishings for the park were suggested, and through
the capital budget process was funded this year. The proposed installation of the
playground and fitness circuit will add a recreation element to the small neighborhood
park.
On February 2, 2016, the Parks and Recreation Department held its first community
meeting for this project. Resident input was gathered and implemented into the plan.
Staff will be presenting the updated plans before finalizing the project and starting
construction.
