A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN MASTER
PLAN ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A.
WHEREAS, more people are riding bicycles and walking in Miami Beach than
ever before; and
WHEREAS, a Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan was developed for the City in
coordination with the City's Transportation Master Plan by Atkins Global and Street
Plans Collaborative; and
WHEREAS, data in the Miami Beach Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan shows that
twenty-five percent of the people on Miami Beach at any given time are riding, walking,
or taking transit; and
WHEREAS, the main goal of the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan is to increase
the number of people who safely bicycle and walk around Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the key to implementing the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan will be
the development of low stress as well as convenient bicycle and pedestrian friendly
streets that will encourage bicycling and walking, consequently enhancing mobility, the
environment, and the quality-of-life of residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit A and
incorporated herein by reference, promotes the modal prioritization strategy adopted by
the City Commission on July 8, 2015 pursuant to Resolution No. 2015-29083 to create
complete streets and a balanced transportation network.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby adopt the attached City of Miami Beach Bicycle Pedestrian Master
Plan.

Exhibit A is 213 pages and is entitled "Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan." This document
is located on the City Clerk's website under "Agenda Archives" for the April 13, 2016
City Commission Agenda. Exhibit A was hand-delivered to the Mayor and the City
Commissioners as an attachment to LTC No. 146-2016.
The Exhibit A document will be attached to the final executed Resolution and will be
made part of the City Clerk's records for this agenda item.
