Morales, City Manager DATE: Friday, October 28, 2016 SUBJECT: UPCOMING PARKS AND RECREAt ION NOVEMBER 2016 EVENTS November rings in the season of comfort food and holiday celebrations! The Department of Parks and Recreation invites you to join in on the festivities. Event: Movember Fundraising Event Date: Friday, November 4, 2016 Time: After-school & Playtime programs Locations: Flamingo Park (999 11 Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue), North Shore Park Youth Center(501 72 Street) Movember is an annual event started by the Movember Foundation to raise awareness of various cancers and other male health initiatives. After-school sites will host a special event including arts and crafts, snack and refreshments. Tickets to participate will cost $5 and all the proceeds will be donated to the City's Movember Team Fund. Event: America Recycles Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 Time: After-school & Playtime Programs Locations: Flamingo Park (999 11 Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue), North Shore Park Youth Center(501 72 Street) Children from the After-school and Playtime Programs in the City of Miami Beach will participate in various recycling demonstrations and activities in order to bring awareness to the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling. Event: Senior Thanksgiving Celebration Luncheon Date: Friday, November 18, 2016 Time: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Location: UNIDAD Senior Center(7251 Collins Ave) Seniors registered with the Senior Program at UNIDAD and/or North Shore Park are welcome to attend the annual Thanksgiving celebration lunch. Seniors will satisfy their appetite with a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings. " Event: Fall Fest Date: Friday, November 18, 2016 Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Locations: Flamingo Park (139' Street and Meridian Ave, softball outfield) Join Parks and Recreation for the first ever Fall Fest! There will be free carnival rides, bounce houses and a magic show. Tickets will be sold for sweet treats, corn-on-the-cob, petting zoo, arts & crafts and more. Concessions will be available for sale. Event: Social Club Thanksgiving Feast Date: Saturday, November 19, 2016 Time: 1:30 p.m. —3:30 p.m. Location: North Shore Park Youth Center Auditorium (501 72 street) All adult Special Population participants are welcome to attend the annual Thanksgiving feast! Those in attendance will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal and festive music. Event: Playtime Thanksgiving Feast Date: Tuesday, November 22, 2016 Time: 10:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. Location: Flamingo Park (999 11 Street) and North Shore Park Youth Center (501 72 Street) Parents and children will come together to celebrate Thanksgiving at the 4th Annual Thanksgiving Feast. Event: After-School Thanksgiving Feast Date: Wednesday, November 23, 2016 Time: After-school programs Location: Flamingo Park (999 11 Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue), North Shore Park Youth Center(501 72 Street) After-school participants will participate in a Thanksgiving Feast during program hours.
