SUBJECT: CIP Monthly Construction Projects pdate
Below please find the monthly update for active City of Miami Beach construction projects under
the purview of the CIP Office.
Espanola Way Conversion
Scope: Conversion of Espanola Way into a pedestrian mall.
Status: Construction began August 2016. Project is 18% complete and scheduled for
completion February 2017.
Beach Lifeguard Towers Replacement
Scope: Construction of 35 Lifeguard towers
Status: Construction began March 2015. Thirteen towers have been completed. Two
towers are currently in process and are scheduled for completion February 2017.
South Pointe Park Remediation —Water Feature
Scope: Construction of 4 new water features.
Status: Construction began January 2016. Project is 53% complete and scheduled for
completion January 2017
Sunset Islands 3 & 4 Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Sunset Islands 3 & 4— Neighborhood improvement.
Status: Construction began June 2015. Project is 55% complete and scheduled for
completion April 2017.
Lower North Bay Road Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Improvements on North Bay Road from Sunset Drive (20th Street) to Alton Rd at
Chase.
Status: Project is substantially complete and addressing punch list items.
Venetian Islands Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements on San Marino, Dilido and Rivo Alto Islands.
Status: Construction began May 2013. Project is 55% complete and scheduled for
completion April 2017.
Central Bayshore South Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements bounded by 34th St. to the north, Pine Tree Dr. to
the east, 28 St. to the south and Prairie Ave to the west and Meridian Ave from 28 St. to
Dade Blvd.
Status: Project design is 50% complete and construction of watermain is expected to
commence in December 2016 on Prairie Ave. Project is scheduled for completion
November 2017.
Biscayne Point Entry
Scope: Beautification project of the neighborhood entryway to Biscayne Point Island.
Status: Construction began September 2016. Project is 28% complete and scheduled for
completion December 2016.
Flamingo Park Restroom Facility
Scope: Demolition of existing restrooms and addition of a restroom/office building.
Status: Construction began June 2016. Project is 15% complete and scheduled for
completion January 2017.
Palm & Hibiscus Island Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements on Palm and Hibiscus islands.
Status: Construction began January 2016. Project is 28% complete and scheduled for
completion August 2017.
