SUBJECT: Community Meeting To Discuss emporary Relocation Strategies for Maurice
Gibb Memorial Park Playground
On Monday, November 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. the Parks and Recreation Department will be
hosting a community meeting at the Miami Beach Golf Club to discuss temporary relocation
strategies for the Maurice Gibb Memorial Park Playground.
Maurice Gibb Memorial Park is facing a temporary closure during an upcoming soil remediation
project and renovation of the park. The City of Miami Beach is currently exploring several
options in order to continue serving the playground users including residents from Belle Isle,
Sunset Harbor, Sunset Islands, West Avenue and the Venetian Islands. The intention of the
community meeting is to discuss proposed strategies which include a temporary playground
near the current park and a permanent/temporary playground at Belle Isle Park.
