SUBJECT: 2016 SOUTH BEACH INTERNATIO AL AMATEUR
The purpose of this LTC is to inform the City Commission that the 6th Annual South
Beach International Amateur (SBIA) will be held at the Miami Beach Golf Club and
Normandy Shores Golf Club from Monday, December 19th through Thursday, December
22nd
The SBIA will once again place as one of the "Top 15" amateur golf tournaments in the
world, coming in at #8 compared to #12 last year. For the fifth straight year, the
tournament will be a "Worldwide Major" in amateur golf. Out of 210 participants, 133 of
this year's players are ranked top 1,000 worldwide; a jump from 105 top ranked players
in 2015.
Miami Beach Golf Club (MBGC) and Normandy Shores Golf Club (NSGC) will be open
for limited hours of public play beginning Saturday, December 17th. MBGC will return to
normal hours of operation on Friday, December 23rd and NSGC will return to normal
hours of operation on Wednesday, December 21St. Please see below for the modified
schedule throughout these dates:

Golf Club Management has made arrangements with Miami Shores Country Club for
members to play Saturday through Tuesday with preferred tee times and special rates.
Members can contact the Miami Shores pro shop at 305-795-2366 to make
arrangements on a first come first served basis.
