SUBJECT: INAUGURAL MIAMI BEACH YO 1 TH MUSIC FESTIVAL
The purpose of this LTC is to notify the Mayor and City Commission that the place to be on
March 18, 2017 from 4:OOpm to 10:OOpm is the North Beach Band Shell (7275 Collins Avenue)
as we rock -out at the Miami Beach Youth Music Festival. This exciting inaugural event between
the City of Miami Beach and The Rhythm Foundation is the culmination of musical performance
video auditions held during the months of December and January from scores of local youth
musicians competing for a coveted spot at the Festival.
Applicants were required to be residents or students in the City of Miami Beach and aged 18
years and younger.
A panel composed of pioneers in the music industry carefully reviewed the video submissions,
and after a tough decision, the following performers will make their musical debuts on the
famous North Beach Band Shell stage:
Arrow Head
Avalanche
Flotilla
Glimpse
Just Billy
Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble
Monet
Ripcord
River Friedman
The fun continues through the evening as music enthusiasts indulge in delicious treats from
local food trucks, get silly in our special photo booth and enjoy a very special headliner
performance by Grammy- nominated, Locos por Juana. A $5.00 suggested donation will be
accepted at the door to help benefit three local youth music programs: Miami Beach Senior High
Rock Ensemble, Nautilus Middle School Music Academy and Young Musicians Unite.
Runners -up who were invited to perform at the February 22, 2017 Miami Beach Food Truck &
Music Fest included: Above the Skyline, Five -O, Feinberg- Fisher Rock Ensemble and Salad the
Band.
