Public hearing called for July 7, 1976, at 4:30 p.m., to consider water rate to be charged to municipal purchasers of water from City for period from Oct. 1, 1972 to Nov. 1, 1975. 6/ 16/76 Res. #76-15079 adopted, amending existing agreement with U. S. Geological Survey to initiate cooperative investigation of possible leachate contamination of ground water in area around Ojus Dump. 4:30 p.m. Public hearing set by Council on 6/16/76 to fix rate to be charged for water from Oct. 1, 1972 to Nov. 1, 1975, for outside WATER (continued) Municipal customers, pursuant to court order. City Atty. advised Council was on firm ground to hold hearing; that the injunction imposed by Judge Satin had been lifted. Attys. for muni- ciplaities of North Bay Village, Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor advised that they were appearing under protest. City's expert witness appeared and after review of operation and cost figures, advised Council to continue the hearing until latest compilations have been made so that he could submit recommendation. City Atty. advised of copies of correspondence received by him relative to supply of water to Bal Harbour, and cautioned against any action by Admin. in this respect without his knowledge and direction. Mr. Paul School, Councilman of No. Bay Village, 8/4/76 appeared and advised he was also appearing on behalf of cities of Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor, Island, to request Council to arrange meeting for them and their expert witnesses with City's administration and experts, to discuss settle- ment negotiations of pending water rate liti- gation. Council took no action in view of pend- ing litigation and absence of City Atty.
