SUBJECT: Florida Power & Light - 17th Street Ductbank Installation - Impact to
Mayor and Commissioner street parking spaces along 17th Street
The purpose of this LTC is to advise the Mayor and City Commission that starting on April
24, 2017, Florida Power & Light (FPL) will begin mobilizing on 17th Street for the relocation
of an existing ductbank between Meridian Court and Pennsylvania Avenue, which is in
conflict with the second phase of the 72" stormwater pipe installation. The new ductbank will
feed the new FPL south vault at the Convention Center. The work is expected to take
approximately three months.
Access to the 17th Street Parking Garage and Fillmore parking lot will be maintained at all
times. However, access to the Mayor and Commissioner's parking spaces along 17th Street
will not be available until early June 2017.
The street closure has been coordinated with the City's Communications, Transportation,
and Public Works Departments, as well as Live Nation (Fillmore) management and Miami-
Dade County Department of Transportation & Public Works.
In addition to the traffic coordination effort, the project's Public Information Officer will be
sending out alerts via all of the City's social media outlets.
