Morales, City Manager DATE: April 19, 2017 SUBJECT: Landscaping Improvements at S LETTER TO COMMISSION the City C mmission uth Pointe Park The purpose of this LTC is to notify the City Commission that the Parks and Recreation Department will be temporarily closing some areas of South Pointe Park, with particular emphasis on the hills, to perform landscaping improvements. The project shall consist of sod removal, surface grading and the installation of new sod. After grading and installation, which shall take approximately one week, the newly sodded areas will remain closed for an additional estimated three to four weeks, in order to allow proper rooting and establishment. During this period, our Athletics Manager will work with fitness instructors and park patrons to identify alternate workout locations. Through this collaboration, which shall continue beyond the duration of this project, our parks greenspace improvement efforts will prove resilient and sustainable over the long term. The project is expected to commence on Monday, April 24, 2017, and should be completed by Friday, May 26, 2017, weather permitting.
