Section 1. i'or tll-, purpose:; of this ordinance the term "Pub-

Section 2. All openings in the walls Of such garages shall be
protected on 0othw sides by stand"- rd fire doors , which shall be kept
constantly closed except when necessarily teriporarily opened for pas-
sage .
Section. 3. All private garages housing not more than three
automobiles , if within fifteen feet of any other bu.,11ding shell be
constructed of qWombustiLle material .

Section 7 . ILo volatile inf la.mable li oL)i d shall be kept or
carried in omen vesosels in a -garage, and no volati1.e inflamable
liquid shall 'Oe drawn except into a -,proved safet17 cans of a capacity
not exceeding iiv e gallons each, and then, with the exception of
liquids with flashpoint above thirty degrees , t'ahrenheit , only for
the purpose o! i=,iediately filling the tanks of automoL;iles contain-
ed in a garage. In lieu of the above safety c,_.ns , porta :le filling
ta.n l.-Is, not to exceed sixty gallons in c.t:na,ci.t:j, may be used, for
trasnporting volatile inflamable lirizid to and from the storage tanks
for filling and charging t-he automobile. The said porta`-..le tanks
shall be surnorted on rubber tire: wheels andd liouids must be drawn
by means of a tight fitting, pump. Hose attachment must not exceed
ten feet in len .th, equipped at tree end with a smut-off valve .

Section 9. v-�-here electric charging a-p,arat1_i.s is installed or
PlUced in a public or commerical garage , all such a-p_ paratus e-cei)t th e
wires leading to the automo-iiles to be charged shall Le Pl.aced within
a room separated from the main garage by fireproof walls, which wall
shall not Le inferior in fire-resisting qualities to re-inforced con-
crete construction four inches in thickness . Any openings frorn such
room into liae main garage shall be protected -by self Oclosing fire
doors, and door sills sh=,.11 be ra,-ised ac, _Leasi, aigh-u inches ar)ove

ous place and manner on all floors and at the entrance of all garages .

Section 11 . On the floor of every garage there shall be con-
stantly kept and maintained convenient rece-r)tacles filled with s,,�-.nd

scoops to be used for fire extinguishing purposes only . There shall

6ection 16. Any person,, firm or corporatio., vvho shall violate
any of the provisions of this ordinance Shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upp -n conviction thereof shall -be punished by a
