ORDINANCE #1500
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA
PROVIDING -THAT BUILDINGS SHALL BE 1ROVIDED WITH
FIRE ESCAPES; PROVIDING FOR A NOTICE TO THE OWNERS
TO PROVIDE FIRE EFCAPES AND PRESCRIBING A IENALTY
FOR THE VIOLAT ION 1117REOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY TH-E/Gity of Idli2mi Beach, Florida, as follows; '
1, That from and after the approval of this ordinancb, all
buildings except private residences, already erected or that may
hereafter be erected, of three or more stories in height, shall be
provided with good and sufficient fire eftcapes.
2. Notice in writing shall be served by the Ohief of the Fire
Department upon the owner ok owners of such building or buildings
by leaving at their place of business or residence a noticd speci.

escape or means of egress required under this ordinance and direct.

ing that the work shall be done not later than sixty days from the
filing of the notice.
3. The owners of any building or buildings upon which a fire
escape is erected shall keep the same in good repair,
4. Any owner or owners, or lessee of any building who violates g
any of the provisions of this ordinance or fails to comply with the
terms thereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction shall be fined not less than Five nor more than Twenty"
five Dollars for each day such building may remain unfurnished with
fire escapes or means of egress after the expiration of the afore.

5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
foregoing are hereby repealed.
n. This ordinance shall take effect and be in farce from and
after its passage,, and posting in ac ;ordance with lAw.
