AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA
PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGT OF FIRS; WORKS OR FIRE
ARMS AND OTH7R PYROTECHNIC DISPLAY, PROHIBITING
THE SALE OF FIRE WORKS AT RETAIL; PROVIDING FOR
THE REMOVAL OF SUCH FIRE :TURKS FROM ALL STORES
AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATIONTHEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED By the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, as follows:
10 The discharge, firing or use of firecrackers, rockets,
torpedoes, roman candles, or other fireworks or substances de-
signed and intended for pyrotechnic display, and of pistols,
canes, cannons, or other appliances, using blank cartridges or
caps containing chlorateof potash, is hereby prohibited, provided
that the Mayor or Council may order the public display of fireworks
by properly qualified individuals. i-rovided also that such display
or displays shall be of such a character and so located, discharged
or fired as, in the opinion of the Chief of the Fire Department, shall
not be hazarciuous to surrounding property or endanger any person or
persons.
20 The sale of fireworks at retail is prohibited. The Chief
of the fire department may, at his discretion, remove or have re-
moved, at the owner=s expense, all stocks of fireworks or other
combustibles exposed for sale, or held in stock in violation of this
ordinance.
3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provi-
sions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction shall be fined not less than Five nor more than
Twenty-five Dollars, or imprisoned in the jail for not more than
25 days for each day that this ordinance is violated.
4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the
foregoing are hereby repealed.
5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage.,and posting in accordance with law
