That pursuant to Section 37 of an act of the .legislature of Florida, approved Iday 26" 1917, and entitled "AN ACT TO ABOLISH THE PRESENT 1,X- NICIPAL GOVERNIENT CF THE TOWN OF IIIAM BEACH, IN TIM COU14TY OF DADE AND STtiTE OF FLORIDA, AND TO ESTABLISH, ORGANIZE AND IJCORPOR.ATE A CITY GOVERNMENT FOR TIDE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, TO DEFINE ITS TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES, TO PRESCRIBE ITS JURISDICTIO-N. POWERS AND PRIVIIZ-GES, � AND FOR THE EXERCISE OF SALIES AND TO AUTHORIZE TIE I120SITION OF PENALTIES FOR THE VIOla TION OF ITS ORDINANCES" and designated as Chapter 7672 of the Laws of Florida, Acts of the Legislature of Florida, for the year, 1917, the sa d City of Miami Leach, Florida, is hereby authorized to issue and sell bonds to the amount of One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand ($125,000.00) Dollars for the erection of. a public building, nudely, A CITlt' HALL, to be constructed within the corporate limits of said City, and upon the following described property, situate, lying and being in the County of Trade and ►tate of Florida, namely: WZly N.� v � Said amount being less than -�`ifteen (15w%) per cent of the assessed value of the real and personal property within its cor. porate limits, for the year 1919, provided the issue and sale of said bonds are ratified by two-thirds of the registered voters i -1- � i of said. city, possessing the qualifications hereinafter set forth and voting at the Special Election called and helf/ for that pur- poses ►section. 2. That said bonds shall be issued. and sold for the purpose of erecting a public building, namely, A City Hall, to the amount of One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand (-"125,000.00) � Dollars, as hereinbefore provided, to be called and known as "City Hall Bonds." i That said bonds shall be issued in one series from one to one hundred and twenty five inclusive. That all of said bonds shall be signed by the h1ayor and Clerk of said city, and attested by the Auditor of said city, and sealed with the City Seal. That said bonds shall be issued in denominations of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each and shall bear interest at the rate of Six per cent ( 6%) per annum, with interest coupons attached and said interest coupons shall bear the facsimile signa:- tune of the City Clerk. . That pursuant to Section 37 ol- Chapter 7672 of the acts of the Legislature of Florida, for the year, 1917, hereinbefore referred to and identified, the said City of IVIiami Beach, Florida is hereby authorized to issue and sell bonds to the amount of Twenty Five Thousand 026,000.00) Dollars, for the es- tablishment, equipment and maintenance ofa Fire Department within the corporate limits of said city, said amount, including allother outstanding bonds for general purposes being less than Ten (10 ) per cent of the gable value of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of said city for the year 1919, pro- vided the i;c_sue and sale of said bonds are ratified by two-thirds of the registered voters of said City possessing the qualifications hereinafter set forth, voting at the Special Election called and held for that purpose. Section 6. That said bonds shall be issued and sold for the purpose of establishing, equiping and maintaining a .Fire Oe- partmerzt within the corporate limits as hereinbefore stated, to be called and known as "Fire Department Bonds". That immediately after the closing of • election shall proceed to the polls, inspectors and Clergy of said count the votes at said election for and against the proposition submitted, and shall prepare duplicate lists showing the vote for i each, and against each respectively, and shall certify the correct- ness of the same, and one of said certified lists under seal shall be handed by the inspector to the city clerk, and the other certified list also under seal, shall be handed to the president of the City Council. } Section 139 That on the first Ionday after said election or as soon. thereafter as practicable, the City Council shall convene and proceed to canvass the vote casi, at such election, and if it shall appear, That the erection of a public building, namely, A City Hall4i to be constructed within the corporate limits of said L City, and the development, extension and maintenance of its Water Works System within its corporate limits, and the establishment, equiptpent and maintenance of a Fire Department within its corporate limits, shall have been ratified, and approved by the affirmative vote o-C two-thirds of th- qualified registered voters of said City voting at said election, then the erection of a public Building, namely, A City Hall; the de.velopmept, extension and maintenance of its Viater `jVorks System and the establishment, equipment and main- tenance of a Fire Department shall be deemed authorized, and if it shall further appear that said issue of bonds shall have been ratified and approved by the affirmative vote of two-thins of the qualified registered voters of said City voting at said election, then such bond issue shall be d`emed authorized.
