Ordinance 1452 ORDINANCE NO. 1452
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 4 AND 32 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
1950 .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 4.11 (d) of the Code of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, 1950 be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
" (d) For awning construction on the street or
ground floor or over public area as required
in section 4.9, paragraph (a) of this Code,
no plans or specifications will be required,
except in the case of roller curtains and ex-
tremely heavy construction as described in
section 4.9, paragraph (d) of this Code, plans
and specifications will be required, and per-
mits will be issued subject to the regular
construction restrictions of this chapter.
The gee for issuing this permit is $1 . 25 for
first $50 .00 value and 25� for each addi-
tional $50 .00 value or fraction thereof. "
SECTION 2: That Section 4.11 (e) of the Code of the City or
Miami Beach, Florida, 1950 be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows :
" (e) For awning construction on the street
or ground floor and on the same building lot
where gasoline or other inflammable or com-
bustible materials are stored as required in
section 4.9, paragraph (b) of this Code,
permits will be issued only when such awning
construction does not constitute an additional
fire hazard and the permit has been approved
by the fire chief. Plans and specifications
must be submitted with application. The fee
for issuing this permit is $1.25 for first
$50 .00 value and 25� for each additional
$50 .00 value or fraction thereof. "
SECTION 3 : That Section 4.11 (f) of the Code of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, 1950 be and the same is hereby
amended t.o read as follows:
" (f) For tents or any awning construction
that could be considered a tent as required
in section 4.9, paragraph (c) of this Code,
permits will be issued for the erection of
a tent or group of tents, for temporary use
and for a specified period only, after the
applicant has obtained written permission
from the city council for the issuance of
such permits. The fee for issuing this
permit is $1. 25 for first $50 .00 value and
25(� for each additional $50 .00 value or
fraction thereof. "

SECTION 4: That Section 4.11 (g) of the Code of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, 1950 be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
" (g) For awning construction of sufficient size
to require frame of truss construction or the
use of pipe larger than 1 1/4 inch (inside
measurement) as required in section 4.9, para-
graph (d) of this Code, complete plans and
specifications must accompany the application.
The fee for this permit is $1 . 25 for first
$50 .00 value and 25,� for each additional
$50 .00 value or fraction thereof. "
SECTION 5 : That Section 32.4 of the Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, 1950 be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 32.4. Same--Fees; application.
A fee of twenty cents per square foot of
maximum horizontally projected area with a
minimum of $2.50 shall be paid for each sign
required for the taking down and re-hanging
of signs where there has been no change of
any kind in method of supporting, framework,
copy, etc. , and a fee of $1. 25 shall be paid
for each sign applied by a sign writer.
Applications for permits shall be accompanied
by such d aw-'L lgs and .i n ormation as are nec-
essary to fully acquaint the chief building
inspector with location, construction, weight,
materials, method of securing and manner of
illuminating. "
SECTION 6: That all ordinances in conflict herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passing and posting as required by law.
