ORDINANCE NO. 229
AN ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIALII
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SEC-
TION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 145
PASSED AND ADOPTED JANUARY
26, 1921,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 145, passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, January 26th, 1921,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"That there shall be appointed by the City Manager
and approved by the City Council, a Chief of the
Fire Department whose powers and duties shall be
fixed by Ordinance; that there be an Assistant
Chief of the Eire Department, Captains, Inspectors
and. Lieutenants of the Vire Department employed
by the Chief of the Eire Department in such numbers
as may from time to time be authorized by the City
Council; that the Eire Department otherwise con-
sist of first second, and third class firemen and
probation firemen in such numbers as may from time
to time be authorized by the City Council, and that
the Assis,an, Captains, Inspectors, Lieutenants
and eiremen herein provided for be designated and
classified by the Chief of the eire Department
under such rules and regulations as he may prescribe.

City of :Miami Beach, has been posted by me in three conspi-
cuous places in the City of Miami reach, one of which was at
the door of the City Hall in said city on the 8th day of
November, 1925, and that said Ordinance remained posted for
a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the re-
quirements of the City Charter of the said City of iami
Beach.
