Ordinance 1484 ORDINANCE NO. 1484
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF "THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
1950".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 22.2 of "The Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, 1950" be and it is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"It shall be unlawful for any person to operate,
fly or cause to be operated any kind of aircraft
except a balloon over any part of the City, at a
height of less than one thousand feet above the
surface of land or water over which such craft
may be operated or flown; provided however, that
nothing herein contained shall be deemed to reg-
ulate the height at which any aircraft may fly
when such aircraft is used by any governmental
authority for the purpose of spraying insecticides;
or when a helicopter is being used for life-
saving operations under emergency conditions;
or to prohibit the landing of a helicopter en-
gaged in the carriage and delivery of United
States mail or newspapers. "
SECTION 2: That Chapter 22 of "The Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, 1950" be and the same is hereby
amended by adding a new section thereof to be numbered, and
to read as follows:
"Section 22.3 .1. Nothing contained in Sections
22.2 or 22.3 shall be deemed to regulate the height
at which a helicopter may fly or to prohibit the
landing of a helicopter if such helicopter is act-
ually engaged in emergency life-saving operations
and is taking-off or landing at a site, approved
by the City Manager, on the property of a non-
profit hospital, or within one hundred yards
thereof. "
,SECTION 3 : That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and posting as required by law.

three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on
the 20th day of March, A,D. 1963 , and that said
Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
