Ordinance 1519 ORDINANCE NO. 1519
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 35
OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, 1950" , AS AMENDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 14LANI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 35.84 0£ "The Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, 1950", as amended, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 35.84.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage
in, operate, or cause to operate the business or
occupation of renting or leasing automobiles, in
any manner, in the City, at his principal place of
business, or at any sub-agency of said business or
occupation, unless such person shall have first pro-
cured a license from the City Clerk for the said
principal place of business and for each sub-agency
thereof, which license or licenses shall be issued
upon compliance with the provisions of this Article,
and upon receipt of the money herein provided for,
or as may otherwise be provided by law; provided,
that the license or licenses so procured shall be
issued for and shall apply only to the location
and premises specifically designated in such
license or licenses.
It shall be unlawful for any person holding a
license or licenses to engage in the business of
renting or leasing automobiles or any agent or
employee of such person to place, keep, store or
display, for the purpose of renting or leasing,
or for the offering for rent or lease, any auto-
mobile in any location in the City, except in the
location specifically designated in such license
or licenses."
SECTION 2: That Section 35.85 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, 1950" , as amended, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 35.85.
No license or licenses shall be issued to any
person to conduct or operate an automobile renting
business or sub-agency thereof unless such person
shall file with the City Clerk an application for
such license or licenses, in which application,
said applicant shall state under oath the name of
the person to whom such license or licenses is to
be issued, the street address in the City at which
the principal place from which such business shall
be operated, and the `streefaddress in the City at
which sub-agency of said business shall be operated.
Upon the filing of such application and compliance
with the provisions of this Article, the City Clerk
shall issue the license or licenses upon the payment
of the license fees provided for by Section 17 .16 (14)
of this Code. If, after the issuance of the license

or licenses, the applicant desires to operate
additional sub-agencies, a further application
must be made and approved by the City Clerk
before it shall be .lawful to operate such addi-
tional sub-agency. "
SECTION 3u That Chapter 35 of "The Code of the City of iiiami Beach,
Florida, 195011 , as amended, be and the same is further
amended by deleting therefrom Section 35.91.
SECTION 4: All ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its
passage and posting as required by law.

three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on
the 5th day of August, A,D. 19 64 and that said
Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
