AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 789
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEA�H, FLORIDA.
BE IT 4RDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTI4N l: �"hat Section 4 of Qrdinance No. 789 of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby
amended by adding a new paragraph thereto immediately following
paragraph (c), and to be lettered and to read as followss
"(d) Any employee who receives and possesses
a merit rat�ng of "putstanding" in
accordance with the Personnel Rules of the
City shall be entitled for each such rating
obtained by him an acceleration of six (6)
months in the commencement of the longevity
periods provided for in paragraphs (a) ,(b)
and (c) for which ir�creased compensation is
payable. Z'he commencement of said longevity
periods and the increased compensation pay-
able therefore shall be deferred six (6)
months for each "Unsatisfactory" rating ob-
tained by an employee, in accordance with
said Rules. An employee who receives a
merit rating of "Outstanding" but who is
already receiving the maximum increases in
compensation authorized by this Section,
shall receive, as a bonus, a sum equal to
thirty (30/) per cent of the base pay rate
being received by him at the time he
receives said merit rating."

are hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall go into effect as of January 1,
19 65 .
