BE IT ORDAINED BY TE3 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITE OF MIMI BEACH,
PLUIDA:
Section 1. 2hat a City Police Department of said. City is
hereby established, of which the City Marshal, Aao shall be
known as ;laief of olice, shall be the head and who shall be the
chief law enforcement officer of said city, and have jurisdiction
and control, subject to the control of the City _icnager, and in
his absence to the control of this Council, of all other officers
of said. Police Dei)artment.
Section 2. That thee sh11 be one Assist .at Chief of Po-
lice, four ergeants of Police, Three Desk JerP,.eants, and a Chief
of Detectives, and such other Police Officers as may from time to
time be authorized by the City Council, whose duties shall be pre-
scribed by the Uhief of Police.
Section 3. That a City Water Department is hereby establish-
ed, the head of which shall be the Superintendent of the City later
Department, who shall have jurisdiction and control thereover, sub-
jec to the control of the City .ianawr, and in his absence, of the
City :)ouncil, anal ;here shall be an Assistant Superintendent of
City nater ,iorks, and such other eaployees as may from time to time
be necessary, Whose dIties shall be prescribed by the Superintendent
of the Alter Department.
3ection 4. .hat the salaries of all such officers herein pro-
vided for shall be fixed by the City Council.

that Ordinance No. 226 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING
A CITY POLICE FORCE AND CITY WATER DEPARTIUNT" , having
been duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, has been posted by me in three con-
spicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which
was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 31st
day of October, 1925, and that said Ordinance remained
posted for .a period of at least thirty days in accordance
with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City
of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed the official seal of the City of Miami
Beach on this the 2nd day of December, A. D., 1925.
