ORDINANCE NO. 1557
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA BY A.DDING �1 NEW
SECTION THERETO MAKING WATER SKIING UNLAWFUL
ON CERTAIN WATERS WITHIN THE CITY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: That Chapter 25 of the Code of the City of Miami BeaCh,
Florida is hereby amended by adding the follawing
Section thereto to be numbered and to read as followsz
"Section 25.59.2: It shall be unlawful for any person
to operate a vessel towing a person
or persons on water skis, or an aquaplane, or similar
device, or for any person to engage in water skiing,
aquaplaning or similar activity in or upon the following
lakes, canals and waterways in the City: �
All waters in Biscayne Bay within 140 feet of land;
Collins Canal from Biscayne Bay to Lake Pancoast;
Lake Pancoast;
Indian Creek W'aterway from Lake Pancoast northward
to Biscayne Bay;
Flamingo Waterway from Surprise Lake to Indian Creek;
Surprise Waterway from Biscayne Bay to Surprise Lake;
Biscayne Waterway from Surprise Lake to Biscayne Bay;
Tatum Waterway for its entire length;
Normandy Waterway for its entire length;
The canal bisecting Biscayne Point for its entire
length;
The canal parallel ta and abutting the easterly edge
of Biscayne Point for its entire length."
SECTION 2:
SECTSON 3:
All ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same
are hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage.and posting as required by law.
