ORDINANCE NO. 1591

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF "THE
CODE O�' THE CITY OF MIA.MI BEACH; FLORIDA"
BE IT OR.DAINED BY TH� CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH;
FLORIDA:
SECTION l. That Chapter 2 of "Th� Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida" be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto, immediately after Section 2-5 thereof, five (5) �dditional
sections, to be numbe�ed and to read as follows:
"S�c. 2-5.1 '2rh,ere i� hereby created the office of
Executive Assistant to thE City Manager,
who shall be appointed by and �erve at th� will of
the City Manager. The duties of the Executive Assistan�
to thc City ManagEr shall be prescribEd by the City
Manager and hi� compensation shall be fixed by orclinance.
Sec. 2--5.2 �here is hereby created the office of
Management Analyst, who shall be appointeci
by and �erve �.t the will of the City Man�ger. The
dutie� of the Management Analy�t shall be pre��ribed
by the City Manager and his compensation �hall be
fixed by ordinance.

Sec. 2-5.3 Ther� i5 hereby created the office of
Purchasing Assist�nt, who shall b�
appointed by and serve at the will of the City Manager.
The duties of th� Purcha�ing Assistant �hall be
prescribed by the City Man�.ger and hi� compensation
shall be fixed by ordin�ncE,
Sec. 2-5.4 There is h�reby created the office of
Public Works Director, who shall be
appointed by th� City Manager, by and with �hc� cons�n't
of the City Council. The duties of the Public Work�
DirEctor shall be prescribed by the City Manager and
hi� con�pEnsation �hall b� fixed by ordinance.
�ec. 2-5.5 There i� her�by created the offic� of Planning
Director, who shall b� appointed by th� City
Man�.ge�, by and with the consent of thE City Council. The
d�tie� of the �lanning Director shall b� prescribed b�
the City Manager and his compensation shall be fi�ed b�
ordina�ce."
