AN ORDINANCE 1�►MENDING CHAPTER 25 OF "THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH; FLORIDA"
BE IT ORDAINED BY TI3E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH; �
FLORIDA: �
SECTION l. That Chapter 25 of "The Code of the City of Miami �
Beach, Florida" be and the same is hereby amended
by adding a new section thereto, immediately following Section
25.57, to be numbered and to read as follows:
"Section 25.57.1 It shall be unlawful for any person
to rent or lease any motor sco�ter
to any person, or for the use of any person, under the
age of sixteen (16) years, who does not possess a valid
driver`s license; or to rent or lease any motor scooter
to any person, or for the use of any person, unless a
crash helmet is provided at no additional charge for the
period of such rental; or to rent or lease any motor
scooter unless the same is equipped with two rear view
mirrors, and unless such motor scooter possesses a valid
inspection sticker issued semi-annually by Dade County,
Florida; or to rent or lease such motor scooter unless
such �otor scooter is equipped with a governor mechanism
limiting its forward speed to a maximum of thirty-five
(35) miles per hour."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in
conflict herewith, be and the same hereby are
repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by
law.
