AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF
"?�HE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLURIDA"

BE IT ORDAINED SY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF MTAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION l. Tha} Section 25-59.1 of Chapter 25 of "The Code
of the Cit� of Miami Beach, Flarida" be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-59.1 Same - Use of Surfboards restricted.
The use o� surfboards in the acean is prohibited;
provided, hawever, that such use shall be permitted
southerly of the municipal pier extending to a line
beginning at the southeast corner of SOUTH BEACH
PA+'R�K SUBDIV,ISION, according to the plat thereof,
as recarded in Plat Book 6, at page 7'7 of the public
records of Dade County, Florida, said line extended
in an easterly direction to a point on the ocean
marked by a bu�y, as the same shall be located and
maintained fro�n day to day� under the direction and
authority of �he beach patrol "cap�ain, providec�
further, however, that such use shall be permitted
only during daylight hour�; and provided, further,
tnat the beach patrol captain or a beacn �atrolman
acting at the direetion and authority of such
captain nnay close said surfing area where, in the
exercise of the discretion of said beach patrol
captain, weather conditions constitute a hazard
to health, safety and welfare of the per�ons
using said area; and turther provided that the
use of s�.�rfboards :;hall also be permitted in
sucr� other areas as may be designated by �he
city manager from time to time as �reserting *�o
undue danger af injury to bathers."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances, or parts of ordinances,
in canflic�t herewith be and the same are hereby
repeal.ed.
SECTIOAT 3. That this ordinan�e shall go into effect
immediat2ly upon its passage and posting as
recPaired by law.

having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, l�as been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 6th day of April, 1967
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
