AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N�. 845 OF
THE CITY 4F MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION
AND MAINTENANCE 4F A PENSION AND RETIREMENT
SYSTEM FOR CERTAI�1' EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY QF
NtIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF M2AMI BEACH,
FLORIDAo
SECTION le That Ordinance No. 845 be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new subsection, immed-
iately following subsection 5.03.02.01, to be numbered and to
read as followse
"5.03.�2.02 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary
in this ordinance any policeman or fire-
man who is a member of this system, not being a member
of the City Pension Fund for Firemen and Policemen,
who has completed 24 years of creditable service shall
be eligible for retirement on the first day of the
manth following the attainment of age fifty (54) , pro-
vided further that any policeman or f ireman v�rho is a
member of this system shall be mandatorily retired on
the first day of the month following the attainment of
age s ixty-f ive ( 65 )."
SECTION 2s That Qrdinance No. 845 he and the same is hereby
amended by adding the�eto a new subsection, immedi-
ately following subsection 5A.08.O1, to be numbered and to read
as followso
"5A.08.02 Notwithstanding anyt:h.ing to the contrary
in this ordinance any policeman or fire-
man who is a member of this system, not being a member
of the City Pension Fund for Firemen and P4lieemen, who
has completed 24 years of ereditable service shall be
eligible fox retirement on the first day of the month
following the attainment of age fifty (50), provided
further that any policeman or fireman who is a member
of this system shall 3�e mandatorily retired on the
first day of the mflnth following the attainment of age
sixty-five (b5). Provided �urther, that any retirement
under this subsection shall not be subject to the
actuarial reduction for early retirement provided for
in Section 5A.03.04."
SECTION 3o That a�.l ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

SECTION �s The provisions of this Ordinance shall become
effective on the 7th day of June, 1967, provided it
shall be approved by a majority of the qualified voters of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, voting on the same at an election
caI led for that pu�pose .

having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Niiami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 19th day of April, 1967
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Ntiami Beach.
