It is the intent o� this plan to provide regula�c employees and ofgicers of the city and those of such employees and officers who shall have retired from service � under any city pension system prior to January 1, , 1964, with the advantage of participation in a group l.ife insurance plan the coverage of which shall be two thousand dollars per member, and to provide those of such reuular employees and officers who are retirc:d from service under any city pension system subsequent to December 31, 1963, with the advantage of participation in ��uch group li�e insurance plan the coverage of ��hich shall be one thousand dollars per membero" be and the same is hereby arnended to read as followsz "Benefits.
