ORD INANCE NO . 1776
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF
"THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA".

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA :
SECTION 1: That Chapter 2 of "The Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida" be and the same is hereby amended
by adding a new section to be numbered Section 2-1.3, to
follow immediately after Section 2-1.2, and to read as follows:
"Sec. 2-1.3. No person shall be appointed
or elected to, or serve on, more than one Board
or Commission of the City whether such Board or
Commission now existing or hereafter created or
constituted under the State Constitution, Act
of Legislature, the Charter of the City, or any
Ordinance or Resolution of the City Council.
Any person hereafter appointed or elected to
and accepting appointment or election to more than
one Board or Commission, whether appointive or
elective, shall be deemed to have forfeited
forthwith all appointment or election to any and
all prior Boards or Commissions of which he shall
have been a member.
"Any person now serving on more than one
Board or Commission of the City, however created
or constituted, shall designate in writing to the
City Clerk within f ifteen days of the effective
date hereof the Board or Commission upon which he
desires to serve or continue to serve, and upon
the filing of such designation a vacancy shall
thereof be deemed to exist upon any and all other
Boards or Commissions to which he was theretofore
appointed or elected. The failure to f ile such
designation shall be deemed to be a forfeiture
of inembership in each and every Board or Commission
to which such person shall have been appointed or
elected."
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
