Section 1.2 The pay rate steps as set forth in Tables A, B, ,_.._��.__._____._ sha12 be the basis for pay8rangesato whichhclass and made a part hereof, of this ordinance are assigned.'� ifications in Section 1 SECTION 3 That Section 4 of said Ordinance Noo 789 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Se�ction 4 (a) 6�hen an empl.oyee shall hav�e completed ten �years employment, he shall be paid a sum equal to five per cent (5%) of his base pay in addition to the amount he is paid under Section 1 or Section lel hereof, (b) When an employee shal.l have completed fifteen years employment, he shall be paid a sum equal to seven and ane haZf percent (7�"/0) of his base pay in addition to the amount he is paid under Section 1 or Section 1,1 hereof. Cc) When an employee shal.l have completed twenty years employmenfi� he shall be paid a sum equal to ten per cent (10'/,) of his base pay in addition to the amount he is paid under Section 1 or Section I.L hereof. .�- For provisions of this section, length of employment shall include all, time spent as an employee in the Unclassified or Classified Service regardless of status for which compensation has been paid and time whi,le on approved military leave for service in the Armed Forces of the United States, provided, however, that in the event an empl.oyee is absent from his duties because of service-connected injury, for whi,ch Workmen�s Compensation is payable9 is certified by the City Physician to be physically able to return to h3s duties, and fails so to do, the period between such certification and the employee�s actual return to his dut�.es sha11 not be deemed to be service time within the meaning of this sub-paragraph." SECTION 4. SECTIDN 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. That this ordinance shall go into effect as of October 1, 1969. • 5 - SECTIORI 6. The health and welfare of the City being in peril the three readings of this ordinance shall be had in one session, and the City Council finding that this ordinance is necessary for the ingnediate protection of its citizens, it shall therefore go into effect on the date hereinabove set forth.
