13030 RESOLUTION NO. 13030 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY COMMISSION TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROCURE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE SOUTH SHORE AREA OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the following area in the City of Miami Beach be and the same is hereby designated as a slum or blighted area, bounded by: Biscayne Bay on the west; Atlantic Ocean on the east; Government Cut on the south; 8th Street between Biscayne Bay and Collins Avenue; and 5th Street between Collins Avenue and the Atlantic Ocean on the north; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the rehabilitation, conservation, redevelopment, or a combination thereof of said area is necessary in the interest of the public health, safety, morals and welfare; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Metropolitan Dade County Commission is hereby formally requested to direct Little HUD (Dade County Department of Housing and Urban Development) to initiate an application to secure renewal funds for the re- development of the South Shore Area.
