13078 RESOLUTION NO. 13078
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE IMMEDIATE
INSTITUTION OF A FEASIBILITY PLAN FOR
UNIFORMITY OF SEWAGE COLLECTION AND
TREATMENT.
WHEREAS, uniform regulation, adequate collection,
appropriate treatment , and suitable disposal of sewage ,
and other matters relating thereto, have direct effect
and impact upon the public health, safety and welfare , and
WHEREAS, uniformity in methods of treatment ,
collection and disposal of sewage is directly related to
the achievement of such objectives , and
WHEREAS, such uniformity of modes and means of
collection, treatment and disposal can be best achieved
by county-wide standards and requirements for the primary,
secondary and tertiary treatment of sewage , and
WHEREAS, the formulation of such uniform standards
for the primary, secondary and tertiary treatment of sewage
will be of substantial importance in the achievement of a
final and total program in regard thereto,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the
Metropolitan-Dade County Commission, forthwith direct the
Metropolitan-Dade County Water and Sewer Authority to
institute, with all possible immediacy and urgency,
appropriate studies for the formulation of the most feasible
method for the primary, secondary and tertiary treatment of
sewage , and for the formulation of plans and specifications
for the most suitable and efficient sewage treatment plant
required; such studies to also specifically include therein
suitable and practicable means of funding the capital cost
and operational expenses required for such plants ; said
studies to include also a determination of the most feasible
and effective means of procuring the joint and cooperative
effort on the part of Metropolitan-Dade County and of all
the municipalities situated therein,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that upon the completion
and conclusion of such of the studies hereinabove requested
that the results thereof be forthwith made available ,
transmitted and reported to the appropriate officials of
the State of Florida for approval and for the obtaining of
the aid and assistance of the State in procuring necessary
funds, state and federal, for the prompt and immediate
implementation of such studies .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this
resolution be transmitted to each and every member of the
Metropolitan-Dade County Commission, the County Manager
and all the appropriate officials of each and every
municipality within Metropolitan-Dade County.
