13130-A RESOLUTION 13130-A The members of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, duly gathered and assembled this day in regular session, paused in their proceedings to solemnly observe with the Almighty God, King of Kings, in His infinite wisdom, who saw proper• to take from their midst and his beloved community, the person of FRANK DEVIN, their esteemed and respected friend, fellow-citizen, and generous benefactor and philanthropist. The said members of the said City Council of the Citykof Miami Beach, Florida, invoked from the gathered assemblage in the Chambers of the City Council to prayer, and to honor the memory of the said FRANK DEVIN, and they did, thereupon RESOLVE, that the members of the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, do hereby express their profound sorrow over the death of their friend, fellow-citizen and philanthropist, FRANK DEVIN; and/ RESOLVE, that in the death of the said FRANK DEVIN, the entire City of Miami Beach, its residents, inhabitants and citizens, lament the close of the said FRANK DEVIN'S long and unequalled record of self-sacrifice and service to this community, and his altruism beyond measure to the poor, the needy, and the friendless in this community; and RESOLVE, that the host and the numberless acts of his altruism and philanthropy can, of necessity, be only briefly chronicled. He did, among other contributions to his community, serve with ' distinction as a member of the Miami Beach Planning Commission; he was the greatest single benefactor to that noble organization dedicated to the service of their fellow-men, "SAVE OUR SENIORS, " affectionately known to all as "S .O.S . " ; he made donations of goods, necessities and needful items of furniture to the elderly; he was the noble embodiment of that ethic in the Talmud which advises us that the greatest form of charity is that in which the recipient does not know from whom his benefit came, and in which the donor seeks only to remain anonymous; he was a man beloved by all; he was no-one ' s object of ill-will or animosity; his life will be an eternal living chapter in this City ' s history; and RESOLVE, that this testimonial of respect to FRANK DEVIN be spread upon the Minutes of our City Council, and that a copy thereof be furnished by the City Clerk to his bereaved family with our tender, profound sympathy in their affliction, and pray that they find assuage- ment of their grief in the thought and reflection that the said FRANK DEVIN fulfilled a most honorable career with a glorious and unsullied name. The above and foregoing Resolution was moved by Councilman HERBERT MAGNES, and Vice-Mayor LEONARD WEINSTEIN amended said Motion so as to provide that the foregoing Resolution was jointly moved by each member of the City Council, including the Mayor, to wit: Mayor Jay Dormer, Vice-Mayor Leonard Weinstein, Councilman Norman Ciment, Councilman Robert Goodman, Councilman Jerome Greene, councilman Herbert Magnes, and Councilman D.
