13140 „s } RESOLUTION NO. 13139 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that The Mayor's Committee heretofore designated and known as "The Mayor's Advisory Committee on Juvenile Problems” be and the same is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as "The City of Miami Beach Advisory Committee on Juvenile Problems", and shall have a membership consisting of fourteen members. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the present membership shall continue until April 21 , 1971 , and that the said membership shall have all the rights and privileges granted to other committees and members created by the said City Council . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that after April 21 , 1971 , the Committee shall consist of ten members. Appointments to said Committee shall be made by majority vote of the City Council . PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of October, 1970. it."7R or Attest: he:idffEL4' City Clerk and Finance Director RESOLUTION NO. 13139-A WHEREAS, under existing law, municipalities have no control or discretion in the matter of the issuance of licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages and are not authorized or empowered to inquire into, or examine the character, financial stability and background of applicants for such licenses, and WHEREAS, local municipal authorities have greater knowledge and familiarity, and are better equipped to pass upon those elements of such applicants ; and WHEREAS, the residents and citizens of a particular municipality are most directly interested and experience the greatest impact in the event that such licenses are improvidently issued to persons unsuited or unqualified for the privilege of selling alcoholic beverages ; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the State, as well as each municipality in the State, that municipalities should be empowered and authorized to pass upon said qualifications of ap- plicants for such licenses ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the Legislature of the STATE OF FLORIDA. be and it is respectfully requested to enact appropriate legislation granting authority to, and empowering the several municipalities in the State of Florida to directly pass upon the moral, financial and other essential qualifications of an applicant for the sale of alcoholic beverages within the respective limits of each municipality; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this Resolution be trans- mitted to the GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA, the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, the PRESIDENT OF THE STATE SENATE, and to each and every member of the DADE COUNTY DELEGATION to the Florida Legislature. PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of October , 1970 . ayor ATTEST: ity Clerk - Finance Director OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY-1130 WASHINGTON AVENUE-MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA 33139 RESOLUTION NO. 13140 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been advised that MIAMI BEACH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA desires to lease the premises and facilities of the Miami Beach Auditorium WVOIYMPOSIXWorietloNOMItueoutlY for the purpose of SEVEN CONCERTS on November 15, 1970, December 6, 1970, January 10, 1971, February 11, 1971, March 14, 1971, April 4, 1971, May 2, 1971 WHEREAS, a lease agreement has been prepared by the Auditorium and Convention Hall Manager and approved as to form by the City Attorney, and WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised of, and is familiar with, the terms and provisions of the said lease agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk-Finance Director be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the above described lease agreement on behalf of the City, and that the Auditorium and Convention Hall Manager is hereby authorized and directed to carry into effect the terms and provisions undertaken therein by the City.
