13165 RESOLUTION NO. 13165
WHEREAS, the Mercantile National Bank of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, is a banking institution of high
repute, and
WHEREAS, said Mercantile National Bank has been an
active partner of the citizens of the City of Miami Beach in
their unceasing efforts to advance the interests of the
community, and
WHEREAS, towards the aforementioned goal, the
Mercantile National Bank has instituted a public service
program of great merit for all people of the City of Miami
Beach, and
WHEREAS, said program consisted of bootis constructed
in the lobby of their 420 Lincoln Road banking establishment,
from which booths Mr. Carl B. Saenger and assistants dispensed
invaluable information regarding medicare or social security
programs and the benefits stemming therefrom to all citizens
who wish to avail themselves of such services, and
WHEREAS, the said services offered to one and all
were absolutely free of charge and gave the citizens of the
City of Miami Beach access to invaluable information that
they would not ordinarily be able to gain so easily, and
WHEREAS, the said services contributed greatly to
make the citizenry of the City of Miami Beach more aware of the
many programs and benefits thereof to which they may be
entitled;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this City
Council wishes to acknowledge the contribution of the Mercantile
National Bank and offer congratulations to them for this
imaginative undertaking to enlighten the citizenry of the City
of Miami Beach. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation is extended
by each and every council member singularly and as a body.
The City Council of the City of Miami Beach is proud to have
such a public spirited banking institution as a member of its
community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
be sent to the President and Chairman of the Board of the
Mercantile National Bank.
