13193 RESOLUTION NO. 13193
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, deems it to be to the best interest of
the City of Miami Beach, its citizens and residents,
that the City enter into a contract with MISS UNIVERSE,
INC. , a California corporation, for the conduct of
beauty contests and selection of "MISS U.S .A. " and
"MISS UNIVERSE" , in the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
during the periods May 17 , through May 22 , 1971 for the
selection of "MISS U.S .A. " , and July 19 through 24, 1971
for the selection of "MISS UNIVERSE", in the Miami Beach
Auditorium, with the terms and conditions of which contract
the City Council is familiar :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and the City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the said contract in the
name of and on behalf of said City, and that the disbursing
officers of the City are hereby authorized and directed to
disburse the monies required by the terms of said contract,
from funds of the City available for such purposes .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of January, 1971.
