13198 RESOLUTION NO. 13198
WHEREAS Mall Transport, Inc. is a public utility
company which owns and operates vehicles for public transportation
on the Lincoln Road Mall in the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter of the
City of Miami Beach, the City Council is invested with full
power and authority to establish, impose and enforce rates and
charges for public utility services or conveniences operated,
rendered or furnished by any person, persons, firm or corporation;
and
WHEREAS Mall Transport, Inc. has requested of the
City Council a public hearing to determine whether said Mall
Transport, Inc. is entitled to increase its present rates and
charges for transportation of passengers within the City of
Miami Beach; on the Lincoln Road Mall; and
WHEREAS the City Council deems it to be to the best
interest of the City and of the Mall Transport, Inc. that
such public hearing be held before it as the regulatory authority
of the City of Miami Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing is
hereby called to be held at 2 :45 o'clock p.m. on March 3 , 1971,
at the regular meeting place of the City Council in the Cypress
Room of the Miami Beach Convention Hall, 1700 Washington Avenue,
Miami Beach, Florida, for the purpose of hearing all persons
and receiving any evidence submitted on the question of whether
the Mall Transport, Inc. is entitled to increase its fares as
above set forth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk-Finance
Director be and she is hereby authorized and directed to send
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the President
of Mall Transport, Inc. , and to all other persons or organizations
who may request a copy thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk-Finance
Director be and she is hereby directed to publish in the Miami
Beach Sun, the Miami Beach Reporter and the Miami Beach Times,
newspapers of general circulation in the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, a notice of said hearing, not less than ten (10) days
prior to March 3, 1971 .
