13232 RESOLUTION NO. 13232 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a special election shall be called within the earliest practicable time for the purpose of submitting to the electorate, under the provisions of the Home Rule Amendment to the Constitution of the State of Florida, the same being Article VIII, Section 11, and the Home Rule Charter for Dade County, adopted pursuant thereto, a proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of Miami Beach, reading as follows : "Every citizen of the United States who is at least eighteen (18) years of age, and who has been a permanent resident for one (1) year in the State and six (6) months in the City, if registered as provided by ordinance, shall be an elector of the City and shall be qualified to vote in the election of the Mayor and Councilmen of the City, but shall not be eligible to seek or hold such elective office until they are at least twenty-one (21) years of age. " The adoption of the above and foregoing resolution was moved by Councilman D. Lee Powell. PASSED and ADOPTED thisl7th day of March , 1971. �"" May.
