13245 RESOLUTION NO. 13245 WHEREAS, on March 16, 1969, Bernard Carl Nordquist, while employed by the City of Miami Beach, Auditorium and Convention Hall Department, injured his left hand; and WHEREAS, the injured employee was examined and/or treated by Drs . Leo Grossman, Frank Schiavi, Lyle W. Russell and E. S. Truppman; and WHEREAS, the City had accepted and paid claimant for a 5% permanent partial disability of the left hand, as rated by Dr. Russell; and WHEREAS, Dr. Truppman now feels that claimant has a 35% permanent partial disability of the left hand, absent further surgery; and WHEREAS, the claimant does not wish to undergo further surgery at this time; and WHEREAS, it is felt by the Legal Department that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into a compro- mise settlement stipulation under the provisions of §440.20 (10) , Florida Statutes, such settlement to be in the total amount of $3, 994.25, payable to the claimant and his attorney; and WHEREAS, the payment of the sum hereinabove set forth will discharge forever the City ' s liability of every descrip- tion for past, present and future workmen' s compensation benefits payable as a result of all the above-enumerated accidents ; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to enter into a final settlement upon the terms hereinbefore set forth: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Legal Department be authorized to enter into final settlement with Bernard Carl Nordquist and his attorney and that the Mayor and the City Clerk-Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and directed to comply with such settlement.
