RESOLUTION NO. 13247
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Taxpayers Association
has presented to the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida., its resolution supporting the provisions
of House Bill 205, prefiled in the Florida State Legislature
by Representative Baumgartner of Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, is in accord with the provisions of said
resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, is of the belief that the enactment of House
Bill 205 into law will aid in the elimination of double
taxation by the county against municipal property owners by
prohibiting the taxation of city property for the payment of
the cost of rendering municipal services by the county in
the unincorporated areas thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City
Council finds and determines that the enactment of House
Bill 205 into law would afford tax relief greatly needed
by the taxpayers of the City of Miami Beach and other
municipalities in Dade County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this resolution
be transmitted to each member of the Dade County delegation
of the Florida Legislature with the request that said members
exert diligent efforts in obtaining the enactment of said
House Bill 205.
